Sunday- Thoughts on Laundry Day

As I sat today at my favorite window, the one overlooking the cove, I thought about my artwork and what inspires me.

I spend a lot of time taking in the beauty of my surroundings. The marshes in all seasons and the changing pathways of water around and within these grassy spaces.

I am also thinking about the comings and goings of the many people who share this beautiful landscape.

What journey brought them here?

I remember the first time I saw the ocean as a child. I felt very small against that horizon and wondered if England was really on the other side. Time with family was the best and I wanted to return every year.

I think of the feelings of awe, wonder, peace and happiness felt by families over the years.

My work celebrates not only the beauty of our shared landscape but the beauty of human experience within these surroundings.
